The Princess Ann access offers a peaceful way to experience the natural beauty of the Lumber River. Known for its calm blackwater, towering cypress trees, and quiet atmosphere, it’s a great stop for paddling, short walks, or a relaxed afternoon outdoors. Whether you’re setting out on the water or staying close to shore, this area invites visitors to slow down and enjoy the river.

What You’ll Find

Visitors can launch onto the river for kayaking, canoeing, and paddling, or explore nearby trails within the park. A short distance away, the Naked Landing Trail (0.4 miles) offers a simple walking and hiking experience through a natural forest setting. Picnic areas provide a comfortable place to take a break before or after your time on the water.

Accessibility

Princess Ann offers accessible basics near the main access areas, with a more natural experience once you move onto the trail.

Accessible Features:

  • Accessible parking
  • Accessible restrooms
  • Firm surfaces in picnic and river access areas
  • Clear paths between main amenities
  • Natural surface trail with roots and uneven ground
  • Limited smooth trail access for mobility devices

The areas closest to the parking and picnic spaces are the easiest to navigate and offer a comfortable experience for most visitors. The walking trail is a natural forest path with exposed roots. While it’s relatively flat, it isn’t fully smooth. Some visitors using mobility devices may still be able to access portions of it with assistance, but it’s not a fully accessible trail.
