On View: March 20 through April 13, 2017 Reception: Saturday, March 25, 2017, 2 - 4 p.m. The A.D. Gallery is pleased to present Misfits, an exhibition featuring the work of seven UNCP graduating art students. The show will feature each of the students’ best and most recent works. With the title ‘Misfits,’ the students embrace the wide spectrum of themes explored through their work: nature, form and function, cultural identity, restraint of expression, and much more. A variety of media is used throughout the show, including ceramics, steel, installation, painting, video, digital photography, fabric, and printmaking. The Russian National Ballet Theatre presents Swan Lake

Presenting the 50-member Russian National Ballet Theatre in the full-length ballet Swan Lake. This classic production debuted in 1877 and is often called the “national ballet of Russia.” It tells the story of Odette, a princess turned into a swan by an evil sorcerer’s curse. ARTS ON ELM

Featuring gardens in full bloom and arts on the porches of residences along beautiful Elm Street. Walk about and enjoy the ambiance of Lumberton’s Historic Elm Street, a location famous for being filmed in several movies, providing the setting for several novels, hosting nostalgic holiday parades and parties, and guaranteeing relaxing strolls during many years of spring garden tours. Porches and yards will spill over with artists painting “En Plein Air,” paintings framed and for sale, opportunities for adults and children to paint, weave, sculpt, and be creative on site. There will be garden sculptures, plants, seeds and everything springtime.  You will be encouraged to stroll, stop, shop, and rock a while in rockers hand painted by local artists.  Sip a lemonade or enjoy tea and crumpets! In the evening, come to the Arts Council for a refreshing drink and a viewing of the finished artwork from the day of “En Plein Air” painting. 2017 Lumbee Powwow ~ Dance of the Spring Moon

The Lumbee Tribe will host its 12th Annual Dance of the Spring Moon Powwow.  This event will feature a Living History Exhibit, Stickball Games, Powwow Dancing, Food vendors and a variety of fine arts and jewelry from individual artists.  Drum contest winners will be awarded prize money ranging from $2000 to $8000; dance contestants’ will compete for prize money ranging from $400 to $1000 for adults; $100 to $500 for teens; and $75 to $200 for the Boys and Girls categories.  Grand entries will be held Friday 7 pm, Saturday at Noon & 7 pm, Sunday 1 pm. United Way of Robeson County’s 1st Annual Lip Sync Battle

The United Way of Robeson County will present the 1st Lip Sync Battle as a fundraiser for the 2017 campaign. The event will be held Thursday, October 20, 2016 at the Carolina Civic Center, 315 N. Chestnut Street, Lumberton, N.C.  Prior to the show there will be hors d’oeuvres, beer and wine for ticket holders across the street at 308 N. Chestnut Street (the old Progressive Bank Building) from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.  The show starts at 7:00 p.m. with groups of local folks lip syncing to some of our most memorable songs.  Come join us for a fun filled evening where we can all sit back and be entertained by people we know. An Evening on the Red Carpet Benefit Fundraising Auction
