Tickets: $10 Child/Non-UNCP Students: $5 UNCP Student: Free We Are the Music Makers! is a photo exhibit of Southern Roots musicians photographed by Tim Duffy in his quest to preserve Southern traditional music by partnering with the artists who make it. The exhibit will coincide with a concert featuring some of Music Maker’s local blues and traditional native musicians. Exhibit: September 18 - Mid-October Concert:  Featuring blues guitarist, John Dee Holeman, local family blues band, Lakota John & Kin, contemporary native american a-capella group, Ulali Project, and the traditional native musicians, Deer Clan Singers.   Cirque Montage is a show of daring and skill that defies the perception of what is impossible. Strength, flexibility and technique foster a deep appreciation for the human body. Cirque Montage features lizard-leaping pole climbers, a mind-boggling contortionist perched on canes, a Cyr wheel performer inside a ring like a human spoke, aerialists on silks, and an African foot jugler—as well as a bit of comedy. Celebrate Native American Heritage Month with this fun adventure based on the classic story of young Hiawatha. Hiawatha made history when he peacefully united the Five Nations of the Iroquois Confederacy. His name was immortalized in Longfellow’s 1855 epic poem, and his exciting childhood and heroic work are celebrated in countless books. Renowned for his heroic work in peacemaking, Hiawatha’s unforgettable story is great fun and essential education today. Anne Lehmann and her family no longer feel safe in their Berlin home. Life in 1938 Germany is deteriorating quickly for the Lehmanns and all Jews living there; in order to protect their daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Lehmann may have to say goodbye to her forever. STOMP is explosive, provocative, sophisticated, sexy, utterly unique and appeals to audiences of all ages. The international percussion sensation has garnered an armful of awards and rave reviews, and has appeared on numerous national television shows. The eight-member troupe uses everything but conventional percussion instruments – matchboxes, wooden poles, brooms, garbage cans, Zippo lighters, hubcaps – to fill the stage with magnificent rhythms.   The return of the percussive hit also brings some new surprises, with some sections of the show now updated and restructured and the addition of two new full-scale routines, utilizing props like tractor tire inner tubes and paint cans. Strike at the Wind!

The classic story about the life of Henry Berry Lowry will be performed on the GPAC stage for two nights only! Tickets can be purchased online or by calling the box office at 910.521.6361. The long-awaited return of one of the most important dramas of North Carolina history is here! Strike at the Wind! will be performed on stage in GPAC on June 23 and 24 for the first time in a decade. The Lumbee Tribe of North Carolina has partnered with UNCP to revive the drama that tells the local story of the Lowrie War in 1865. The play will be directed by Dr. Jonathan Drahos and will cast between 20 - 30 local actors. A list of the cast will be announced soon. Every barnyard has its bully! But two of the barnyard’s chickens, Marge and Lola, will not stand idly by. ArtsPower’s musical portrays the colorful story of these two barnyard chickens on a mission to win the barnyard talent contest first prize of two tickets to see the great Elvis Poultry in concert! But first, they must present a performance that will score higher than a flock of very talented ducks, led by Mac who loves to play the bully. Sleeping Beauty – Russian National Ballet

Five ballerinas dancing in different colored tutus around a dancer dressed as royalty.

Over 50 dancers bring a traditional staging of the classic fairytale to life set to the timeless Tchaikovsky score. The ballet follows the original Brothers Grimm story of a princess who is cursed by a witch at the celebration of her birth to fall into a 100-year sleep when she pricks her finger on a spinning needle. In the original Brothers Grimm tale the King and Queen survive the 100-year sleep to see their daughter’s wedding to the prince. Visit the GPAC website to purchase tickets or at the box office.

The Red Hot Chilli Pipers

It’s the Red Hot Chilli Pipers, a 9-piece Scottish ensemble consisting of pipers, guitarists, keyboardists and drummers who have been rocking the world with musicianship of the highest order and a passion for pipes that will leave you breathless. Hear explosive covers of your favorite songs from Amazing Grace to AC/DC, Queen, Journey, the Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, Coldplay and more!
