DESCRIPTION:Whether you are dancing\, singing or visiting\, the Lumbee Tribe welcomes you! \nThis annual gathering is a vibrant celebration of Native traditions\, featuring competitive dancing\, drum contests\, cultural demonstrations\, and a powerful display of unity and pride among Indigenous people. Dancers and drum groups from across the nation and Canada will participate\, making the event one of the largest cultural showcases in the region. Prize money for the dance and drum specials and contests range from $100 to $10\,000. Grand entries will begin on Friday at 7:00 PM\, continue on Saturday at 12:00 Noon and 7:00 PM\, and conclude on Sunday at 1:00 PM. Each Grand entry is a highlight of the weekend\, as hundreds of dancers enter the arena in full regalia welcomed by powerful drumbeats. \nAdmission is $12 for adults without an updated tribal ID and $10 for an adult with an updated tribal ID.  Five dollars ($5) for youth under age 18\, seniors $55 and over\, military with ID\, and children age 5 and under are free.  A weekend pass is $25.  Sunday tickets are $5.  Grand entry on Friday and Saturday begins at 7:00pm and on Sunday at 1:00pm.  Plan to enjoy the festivities!

DESCRIPTION:Red Springs Artspace presents Printemps en Luberon\, a solo exhibition of paintings by Cary-based artist Jillian Goldberg. Work in the show was inspired by her 2024 residency in Provence’s Luberon Valley—lavender fields\, ancient stone villages & the lyrical light of southern France. The opening reception is September 6th from 2:00pm to 5:00pm including live music by Mark Andersen.  The artist talk is scheduled for September 27th from 2:00 to  3:00pm.  The exhibition closes October 11th. \n  \nRegular hours for the art gallery are Wednesdays\, 12:00pm to 3:00pm\, Sundays from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and by appointment.
