July 11, 2019 @ 7:00 pm

Official picture of Astronaut William McArthur, wearing his spacewalk suit in front of the American Flag.

Astronaut William (Bill) McArthur, born in Laurinburg, North Carolina, graduated from Red Springs High School, Class of ’69. McArthur returns to Robeson County to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Robeson Planetarium.  Astronaut McArthur will speak about the first walk on the moon.  As a note of information, July 20th is the actual anniversary of  the Apollo XI’s landing on the moon.

Enjoy an evening at the A. D. Lewis Auditorium at Robeson Community College, observing the celebration of the educationally-enhanced years the planetarium has provided for our community and the spectacular experiences that Astronaut McArthur will share.  Admission is free, and donations will be accepted for the rebuild of the original Robeson Planetarium.
