|Recurring Event (See all)

One event on October 25, 2019 at 8:30 am

On behalf of the Museum of the Southeast American Indian, we are excited to announce that the  2nd Annual Lumbee Genealogy Symposium, Revealing the Matriarch: Uncovering the Hidden Legacy of Lumbee Women will be on Thursday, October 24 and Friday, October 25, 2019. This two-day event is centered around the question: What is the Legacy of Women in Lumbee Society? This year’s symposium affords more time for participant engagement as well as hands-on-activities, and lineage chart and photo sharing. We are also delighted to welcome the cast of lumBEEs: Women of the Dark Water to talk about their runaway hit play and the power of shared historical experiences. The symposium will be held on the campus of the University of North Carolina at Pembroke at the UC Annex from 8am to 5pm both days. Breakfast refreshments and lunch will be provided. Ticket information: $35.00 General, Age 65 and over $15.00.  Purchase on line or at the box office of Givens Performing Arts Center, weblink listed below.
