Soon after her graduation from Meredith College in Raleigh, Laura moved to Lumberton where she took a job at Lumberton Sr. High School and headed up the in-school suspension program. She also translated daily for Hispanic students and taught Spanish.  Her life has been embellished with honors as a singer and actor as well as being a loving mother and wife to a husband serving in the US armed forces.  She was crowned Ms. North Carolina Senior America in 2020 and now has earned the National queen honor as Ms. Senior America in 2021.  Laura has returned to Lumberton for performances at the Carolina Civic Center Historic Theater and we look forward to attending a sing-a-long with her at Biggs Park Mall.
