Carolina Civic Center Historic landmark. After completing a major preservation, renovation and upgrade project, the Carolina Civic Center 1928 historic theater in downtown Lumberton re-opened February 13 with a refurbished facility and full schedule of its own programming as well as rentals. The theater also is bringing film back in late summer, 2009, with ongoing classic, childrens and contemporary film series.
