In addition to film and live performances, the Carolina Civic Center historic theater has added exhibits by regional artists to its cultural offerings. “Genius Loci et Memento Mori: /Selected Prints, 2004-2009/”a show of prints by UNC Pembroke faculty member Brandon Sanderson, will be on display starting Friday January 15 through March 15 in the theater’s main and mezzanine lobbies. The exhibit can be viewed and purchased during Civic Center scheduled performances. Free reception and artist talk February 18 at 5:30 pm.

"One Night with the King".The Robeson County Cancer Society and Carolina Civic Center Historic Theater present a fundraiser film event to benefit Relay for Life. This amazing biblical drama chronicles the brave and historic legend of Hadassah, a Jewish orphan with exceptional beauty who rises to become Queen Esther of Persia and saves Persian Jews from genocide. $8 general seating. 2006 PG 100 minutes.

Public Schools of Robeson County Faculty Art Exhibit. A free wine reception and artists talk will be held 5:30pm Thursday March 18 at the Civic Center. Distinquished Speaker Series. Jodie Sweetin is best known for her eight-year run as Stephanie, the precocious middle child, on the hit ABC television show Full House. During her high school and college years Sweetin discovered alcohol and drugs, substances she now realizes that she cannot handle. For years she fought her addictions, causing serious destruction to her life. In her presentation, A Young Star's Road to Recovery, Sweetin explains how rehabilitative therapy changed her life and inspires all listeners to combat challenges head-on.

A Darlington tradition, the NASCAR Nationwide Series will return to Darlington Raceway on Friday, May 7, 2010. NASCAR’s up and coming stars will try their luck at taming our famed 1.366 mile oval in the weekend’s first event, the Diamond Hill Plywood 200. Cars will be on the track all day. Ticket includes admission to the NASCAR practice in the morning; qualifying for the Nationwide and Sprint Cup Series' in the afternoon followed by the Diamond Hill Plywood 200 under the lights. About an hour's drive from Lumberton down I-95.
