Saddletree House of Horror

Mark Andersen and Friends Present “Phantom of the Opera”

In a reschedule due to Hurricane Matthew, organist and composer Mark Andersen returns to his home theater and our Mighty Morton theater organ with a special evening of film and singing just in time for Halloween. The first half of the show features Andersen accompanying on organ the 1925 silent horror film classic with his own original score, while the second half features some of the region’s best vocalists performing selections from Andrew Lloyd Weber’s hit musical. Bluegrass on the Blackwater Featuring The Outliers

An annual event in partnership with the Robeson County Arts Council, this year features The Outliers, the popular five-piece eclectic bluegrass ensemble hailing from Raleigh. The Outliers creates an acoustic music experience with influences ranging from the founders of bluegrass music to new originals and ancient tunes from the Old Country.  Made up of a seasoned musicians, the Outliers bring a new perspective for audiences and creates the unexpected from places not in the center. Free and open to the public.   GENERAL INFORMATION The Carolina Civic Center Historic Theater is a beautifully-restored 1928 treasure listed on the National Register of Historic Places that offers visitors a unique and visually stunning experience. Shagging For A Cure will be hosting our second annual Christmas fundraiser on November 11, 2017 from 9:00-4:00 with vendors selling their specialty items. We will also have food for sale. Doorprizes will be given out throughout the day. We are donating all proceeds to Relay For Life. Come shop and sign up for door prize giveaways. Sit a spell and eat some lunch. On Stage for Youth Series: Chicken Dance

Every barnyard has its bully! But two of the barnyard’s chickens, Marge and Lola, will not stand idly by. ArtsPower’s musical portrays the colorful story of these two barnyard chickens on a mission to win the barnyard talent contest first prize of two tickets to see the great Elvis Poultry in concert! But first, they must present a performance that will score higher than a flock of very talented ducks, led by Mac who loves to play the bully. Can Marge and Lola face their challengers, against all odds, and win the talent contest? Educational programs that bring the classroom to the stage! Broadway and More Series: 9th Annual Holiday Extravaganza

Celebrate the holidays with a musical extravaganza that puts the talents of the many UNCP performing groups, students and faculty on full display. Virtually all of the university’s ensembles and choirs will gather to perform uplifting renditions of holiday favorites. This family-friendly event also features a fun sing-along of well-known Christmas carols. Come early and catch the “Tuba Christmas” mini-concert at 7:30 p.m. in front of GPAC. Proceeds from this concert will go to support music scholarships.
