The Mobile Launch Pad for Critical Careers is a mobile laboratory that visits career fairs, science fairs, and other technology events to give students and members of the public the opportunity to explore careers in science, technology, engineering, and math. The Launch Pad offers scientific demonstrations, unique activities, games, and experiments that will introduce you to exciting career opportunities in North Carolina. The Mobile Launch Pad is coming to the NC Region 4 Science & Engineering Fair in the parking lot in front of the UNCP Jones Athletic building on Saturday, February 11, 2012, between the hours of 8:30 am -3:00 pm. This amazing mobile laboratory is FREE and open to the general public. You do not need to be attending the science fair in order to come and visit the Mobile Launch Pad.

The River People Music and Culture Fest returns to Givens Performing Arts Center at UNC Pembroke on March 9th and 10th. Enjoy two days of indigenous music, art and culture. March 9th includes a matinee performance, an artist showcase by the River Roots Arts Guild called “Emerging Arts Showcase” . March 10th includes the concert, the River Roots Arts Guild Art Display from the Juried Art show and a historical picture display of area church choirs.
