The Awakening: Out of the Darkness Art Exhibit by Alyssa Hinton
The exhibit is a “mixed media composite” series that illustrates a theme of indigenous cultural reawakening and explores the folklore and history surrounding her Native roots. Hinton’s heritage and vision draw from Tuscarora, Saponi and Osage Indian Tribes.
The Awakening: Out of the Darknesswill open on Thursday, February 21, and will be on display through the end of May. A reception for the show will be held at 7 p.m. in the Native American Resource Center in Old Main on the campus of The University of North Carolina at Pembroke.
The public is welcome to attend the opening reception and refreshments will be served.

Both riders work in harmony to cut out the correct cattle and drive them to the pen while keeping the wrong numbered cattle back. There will be professional and amateur division.
