We have a variety of events throughout the year, ranging from festivals, cultural events, indoor and outdoor shows, and other types of functions designed to appeal to a wide audience.

Beginning on Monday, January 5th and on the first Monday night of each month in 2015. Tack will be provided by Andi’s Wholesale Tack, located in Newton Grove, NC and the horse sales will be handled by auctioneer Brad Stephens, of Morganton, NC The Tack sale will start at 5:00 pm each night and the horse sale will start at 7:00 pm. For those wishing to sell horses there will be a commission of $25.00 plus 8% for registered horses and 8% on grade horses with a minimum of $20.00. A negative coggins is required on all horses. Opening Reception 5:30-7pm on March 5th. Our county's students are lucky to have teachers who not only strive to give them an understanding and appreciation of Visual Art but also work as individual artists themselves in order to model the creative process to the students. The teachers believe in the Arts and know firsthand how important it is to have a means of expressing feelings, emotions, and how everyone sees the world. The Miss Greater Southeastern Scholarship Pageant is an official preliminary of the Miss North Carolina and Miss America organization, serving six counties in the southeastern part of North Carolina including Bladen, Brunswick, Columbus, Hoke, Robeson, and Scotland counties. 3/18 “I Have a Dream”- The Life and Times of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
The phenomenal impact of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. is chronicled in this compelling dramatization of the life and times of one of the most influential and charismatic leaders of the 20th Century. Inspired by the arrest of Rosa Parks, Dr. King becomes the prime mover behind the Montgomery, Alabama bus boycott, putting his philosophy of non-violent protest to work. He gains national recognition and becomes the dominant force in the Civil Rights Movement during its decade of greatest achievement. Students will be inspired by the story of this great leader’s struggle and his dream of lifting “our nation from the quicksand of racial injustice to the solid rock of brotherhood.” Don’t miss it! August: Osage County (2013) R. When their father disappears, three strong-willed women return to their childhood home and to their equally strong-willed mother. As they search for their patriarch, the dysfunctional family members wind up facing difficult truths about themselves. Cast: Meryl Streep, Julia Roberts, Chris Cooper. This extraordinary Canadian couple joins forces for their brand new show, representing the next step in their musical and personal journey. Hold on to your hair and prepare for a brand new magical musical re-telling of the classic fairy tale! On the edge of glory, the evil Lady Za Za determines to rule the kingdom by keeping the beautiful Princess Rapunzel - with the long, long, long hair - trapped in a tower in the deep, dark, dank, dismal, dreary forest. Three day event to present and capture the folk life and culture of Fairmont's rural community flavor. Over the three day period participants will enjoy a dinner/theater production with a rural theme on Friday; Country themed arts/crafts/food along with gospel/blue grass music and both antique cars/farm equipment with a b-b-q- pig cook off and food making/eating contests on Saturday; and a time-honored, age-old traditional auto caravan through Downtown Fairmont called “Dragging Main Street” on Sunday. 12/7 MONTHLY TACK AND HORSE AUCTION
Beginning on Monday, January 5th and on the first Monday night of each month in 2015. Tack will be provided by Andi’s Wholesale Tack, located in Newton Grove, NC and the horse sales will be handled by auctioneer Brad Stephens, of Morganton, NC The Tack sale will start at 5:00 pm each night and the horse sale will start at 7:00 pm. For those wishing to sell horses there will be a commission of $25.00 plus 8% for registered horses and 8% on grade horses with a minimum of $20.00. A negative coggins is required on all horses.
